“Awesome” is a septet of theater and music geeks from Seattle. Formed in 2004, John Osebold, Evan Mosher, David Nixon, John Ackermann, Kirk Anderson, Rob Witmer, and Basil Harris began playing as “Awesome” (quotes intentional) in cabarets, theaters, and their mainstay the Jewel Box Theater at the Rendezvous. Over the next decade, they grew their audience and repertoire, playing diverse venues as On the Boards, Neumo’s, the Paramount, the Moore, ACT Theatre, and the Mainstage at Sasquatch Festival 2008. Their surreal blend of humor, vocal harmonies, video accompaniment, and intricate arrangements involving guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass, accordion, drums, trumpet, sax, clarinet, and keyboard gives them a niche in Seattle’s club and performance scenes.
