The matinee show (3pm) is a series of animated shorts by the gifted animator Lotte Reiniger using the ‘silhouette technique’ she developed in the 1920’s.
Featured are “Sleeping Beauty”, “The Grasshopper and the Ant”, “Doktor Dolittle” (2 segments) plus 2 commercials she made.
Her technique uses paper, scissors and stop-motion to create stunning works of art that tell these stories. M&K were commissioned by the Northwest Film Forum to compose new music scores for these films in 2013 for its Children’s Film Festival.
Please note: Tickets do not guarantee seating during shows at the Royal Room. For sold out shows standing room may be the only available space. Please come early to ensure you get a table. Reservations can be made for those who are coming for dinner as well as the show. The Royal Room is All Ages until 10pm.
