Dawn Clement—former mainstay of the Seattle jazz scene, winner of two Earshot Jazz awards for Outstanding Artist and one for Best Performance, and called “Seattle’s jazz wonder woman” by Seattle Times music critic Paul de Barros—returns to the Royal Room in a livestream show. Now director of jazz studies at Metropolitan State University (MSU) in Denver, Dawn will bring a trio that includes saxophonist, solo artist, and MSU instructor Anisha Rush, along with bassist William Kuepper, who plays and sings in a variety of styles, from folk to jazz to bluegrass and soul. Come celebrate Juneteenth and the start of summer with a live show led by one of Seattle’s—and now Denver’s—most beloved musicians.

Ryan Burns is a Seattle-based keyboardist who studied piano at Berklee School of Music in Boston. He has performed for over 30 years w/ jazz artists such as Wayne Horvitz, Skerik and Barrett Martin, plus rock-n-roll hall-of-famers Jimmy Page, Mike McCready, Matt Cameron, Duff MacKagan and others. His 2020 release “Postponed Parade” was nominated for a Golden Ear Award “NW Recording of the Year” by Earshot Magazine in 2020, and his group, Ryan Burns, WON “Alternative Jazz Group of the Year”
