Seating for non-diners is first come, first served. Please arrive early to guarantee a seat!

One of Seattle’s finest jazz ensembles, Critical Mass Big Band (5 saxophones, 4 trombones, 5 trumpets, piano, guitar, bass, and drums) celebrates summer with an evening of dynamite contemporary big band jazz while The Royal Room provides the mouth-watering food and drink: a great combination for a pleasurable evening out.

Entertaining audiences since 2001, Critical Mass Big Band has evolved into a polished and talented group of Seattle-area musicians playing music of the finest big band composers such as favorites Annie Booth, Gordon Goodwin, Robert Curnow, Michael Philip Mossman, and other contemporary composers.  This eighteen-piece big band under the direction of Ian Basques-Jellison and Rob Parks, boasts a stellar line-up including Stephen Reinke, Ian Basques-Jellison, Al Lowe, Barbara Hubers-Drake, Sara Voskuhl on saxophones; Jim Elder, Dave Buck, Doug Lora, Vinnie Christ on trombone; Jeff Leinbaugh, Marty Molloy, Mark Baker, Greg Klein, Victor Ross on trumpet; and Seth Ahnert on piano; Rob Parks on drums; Philip Demaree on bass; Neal Adams on guitar.
