For the first time, Critical Mass Big Band and Sugartime Trio are joining forces to bring you a captivating blend of classic and modern tunes, masterfully arranged by bassist Phil Demaree. Critical Mass Big Band has been a cornerstone of Seattle’s contemporary jazz scene for nearly 25 years, consistently delivering electrifying performances that leave audiences spellbound. Under the musical direction of Ian Basques-Jellison, this premier jazz ensemble features five saxophones (Paul Gillespie, Barbara Hubers-Drake, Al Lowe, Ian Basques-Jellison, Sara Voskuhl), four trombones (Jim Elder, Dave Buck, Doug Lora, Vinnie Christ), five trumpets (Marty Molloy, Jeff Leinbaugh, Mark Baker, Greg Klein, Victor Ross), piano (Seth Ahnert), guitar (Neal Adams), bass (Phil Demaree), and drums (Rob Parks). Their energetic big band jazz is sure to impress.

Sugartime Trio is a dynamic, high-energy ensemble featuring the talented singers Kim Maguire, Meg McLynn, and Caitlin Frances. Their performances breathe new life into classic arrangements by The McGuire Sisters, Andrew Sisters, and the Boswell Sisters, while also incorporating modern tunes with a rich blend of jazz and swing styles.
