Join us for a magical songwriters’ night featuring touring artists Emily Anderson, Collin Stackhouse, and Seattle-based local legend Debbie Miller.
Like stumbling into a rose garden on a trek through the arctic, listeners of Emily Anderson’s music find themselves helplessly lifted into a world so hauntingly familiar, and yet so enchantingly curious. Alaska grown and Los Angeles based, Anderson has recently released a sophomore record, “Salt & Water”. Her single “Gold” was featured in a national Miller Lite campaign and a number of her works have been featured in video games (Calico, The Stars Between Us). Anderson was a finalist in both the American Songwriter, International Songwriting Contest, and Songwriting University Song Contests. These songs, which tackle subjects like grief, mental illness, friendship, and pandemic isolation, are optimistic as well as raw. Anderson’s music reflects her determination to find light in tough times.

Collin Stackhouse
A fiddle player with an intertwined background in the Irish, Scandinavian, and American Old-Time traditions, Collin has fostered a jack-of-all-trades sense of musicality. Singing clear-eyed songs with a winding slant-rhyme and driving clawhammer banjo, Collin’s knack for getting straight to the point you didn’t know you were missing leaves listeners stirred, not shaken.

Seattle songwriter Debbie Miller is like a tantalizing book of short stories. In fact, there are few musicians who work as diligently as she to be as narratively engaging. Her lyrics, like tightrope walkers, rollick on the taut wire of song, guiltlessly and pointedly inspiring listeners who crave more of their spectacle. You might find yourself laughing, then crying, then laughing again – sometimes all in the same song. Miller’s newest release, an EP titled “Heron” was released on November 29th, 2023.
Miller, who recently performed with Dave Matthews, has played prominent Northwest festivals like Timbrrr! and Upstream. She has also opened for the world famous von Trapp family, John Gorka, Lucy Kaplansky, and Kris Delmhorst.
Miller has made television appearances on the acclaimed “Band in Seattle” as well as PBS’s “The Great American Read” which highlighted her song, “Queen of Hearts.” Miller’s songs have also appeared on WNYC’s Freakonomics, TED-ED, and the New Yorker Radio Hour. But her dream is to write a Broadway musical, which she absolutely-freaking-will one day.
