Reel Songs is a songwriter’s film collective. We write songs that capture the essence and emotions of films that move us.
Our unique concept brings together songwriters who watch selected films and write songs inspired by them. The songs are featured in Reel Songs Film Collective’s Youtube episodes and at live performances
Our goal is to create a diverse community of artists who can showcase their talent and connect with fellow musicians.

1-800-ON-HER-OWN:
A cinematic musical road trip through the life of singer-songwriter, pioneering indie musician, and feminist icon,
Ani DiFranco. Ani became a worldwide phenomenon when she beat the “male dominated’ music industry at its own game by founding Righteous Babe Records; the first “women run non-corporate queer happy” label which is still going strong after 35 years. Directed by Dana Flor.
Suburban Fury:
Documentary film about Sara Jane Moore, the perpetrator of the 1975 assassination attempt on U.S. President Gerald Ford. Featuring exclusive access to Moore, who served 32 years of a life sentence, as she recounts how she went from a conservative suburban housewife to an FBI informant to a radicalized would-be assassin. Directed by Seattle based filmmaker Robinson Devor.
