An evening of folk Americana on 6 & 12-string guitar, so that everyone, of any history or identity, can know they have a verse in the shouted poetry of dawn.

Kray Van Kirk

A fine finger-style guitarist with a precise baritone, Kray Van Kirk has a Ph.D. from the University of Alaska, but he set science aside to write songs, tell stories, and summon heroes. “We are driven by myth and the seasons of the heart,” he says. “There is a reason for hero stories, hidden in plain sight and cloaked in the everyday. The dragons look different, the monsters wear suits, the quest hides behind the mundane and appears utterly futile, but the work is the same: Defeat Empire! Build Utopia!” When he reached Scotland and the Fringe Festival, the Daily Fringe Review wrote “The evening’s act was Kray Van Kirk, whose 12-string guitar and soaring vocals were spellbinding; the singer-songwriter, in his Edinburgh debut, was not the reason I arrived early, but was certainly why I stayed late.” Of this charming, Quixotic and eclectic performer, the Borderline Folk Club in New York wrote that Van Kirk was “what every singer-songwriter should aspire to.”

“Kray Van Kirk is a gifted songwriter whose allegorical weave of contemporary and mythological themes is both remarkable and tremendously relevant. A stellar and meticulous musician, equally rooted in the mind and the heart.”
Joe Jencks

“Every time I play cuts off The Midnight Commander, listeners ask ‘Who’s that?’ It’s Kray Van Kirk and there’s none like him.”
Auntmama ‘Sunday Folks’ DJ, KBCS Seattle, WA

Jane Symmes

Jane Symmes is an acclaimed singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music blends indie folk and folk rock with raw emotional honesty and captivating storytelling. Originally from New Hampshire, Jane grew up immersed in music—attending family fiddle camp and performing in her family’s bluegrass band—experiences that shaped her deep-rooted musicianship and authentic approach to songwriting. Influenced by artists like Stevie Nicks and Bonnie Raitt, her songs are marked by enchanting vocals, thoughtful lyricism, and a sound that feels both intimate and timeless. Jane’s debut full-length album, Fool, released May 15th, 2026. Fool is an intimate, introspective body of work that explores the vulnerability of wanting more from life while grappling with self-doubt — the tension between believing in your purpose and fearing you’re foolish for trying.
