Coming off the heels of pianist/composer Mathis Picard’s new album Heat Of The Moment on La Reserve records, the Mathis Picard Trio (where Picard is joined by Jonathan Pinson on drums and Parker McAllister on bass) make their Seattle debut with a night of music rooted in Picard’s research on the connections between healing and presence. Inviting both the trio and listener on a unique musical journey, Heat of the Moment calls upon Picard’s experiences on the road, personal meditation practice, and dearest musical collaborations to provide both a balm and a sonic road map to facing the greatest challenge of our times – healing planet Earth.

Mathis Picard, born May 30th, 1995, is a French-Malagasy pianist, composer, producer, and bandleader who currently resides in New York City. Rooted in the tradition of live acoustic performance while incorporating the latest technology, Mathis creates his own musical style that is influenced by his multinational background. Mathis, who began playing the piano at the age of 3, was immediately passionate about music’s healing quality and now focuses on sharing that passion globally. Mathis currently leads a solo project, a trio project and his orchestra, “The Sound Orchestra”. Mathis has had the honor of working with artists such as Ron Carter, Lillias White, Wynton Marsalis, Christian McBride, Lee Ritenour, Daniel J Watts, DJ Kindness, Braxton Cook, Veronica Swift, Etienne Charles, Cyrille Aimee & more.
